UM GREEN CAMPUS DESCRIPTION
The UM Green Campus team was formed as an environmental and sustainable campus driver. This can be done by integrating science and technology into university policies, management, and tri dharma activities. In addition, the formation of the UM Green Campus is expected to contribute to sustainable discourse in the field of education, campus greening, as well as agents of social change in the field of sustainable environment to increase awareness based on existing sustainable environmental principles.
A green campus in the context of environmental preservation does not only refer to improving physical environmental conditions through greening the campus, but more than that. The meaning contained in the green campus is the extent to which the UM academic community is able to behave as part of the physical environment, in other words, a social environment that is environmentally sound and sustainable is also a development priority. With the physical and social environment of UM that supports sustainability on campus, it is hoped that it can contribute to solving more global environmental problems through the formation of environmentally sound and sustainable mindsets, habits, and behaviors.
